KEYS audition
Keys have a dynamic and unique role in worship! Here we will be looking for proficiency in chords and lead lines for a piano (Keys 1) role.
Try to use chord inversions that best match what is in the recording. Also pay attention to dynamics when playing! Play quieter in the lower moments and louder as the song builds.
Remember we are not looking for perfection, just proficiency. If something is too difficult to play just give it your best.
Both songs are in Db so we’ve provided chord charts in Db as well as charts that are transposed. If it helps you to play in one of those transposed keys and use the transpose function on a digital keyboard, feel free to do so.
Please use the “Practice Tracks” and chord charts provided to prepare for your audition. In these tracks; you will hear the part you’re playing bumped up above the original mp3 recording of the song!

Please use the “Audition Tracks” on this page when recording your audition. They will sound a little different then the “practice tracks”, but will closely emulate what you would hear in your ears during a live service. This includes a click track (metronome) and guide cues that tell you what part of the song you’re in. They should match up with the progression of the practice track & follow the chord chart. The part you’re playing for your audition is not in the audition tracks so that when you record; the only piano in the recording will be you! Please play this track out loud so it can be heard in the recording of your audition!
When you’re recording your video audition; here are some helpful tips to keep in mind:
Do your best to record in a noise-free environment. Ideally we’re only hearing the part you’re playing live and the audition track in the background.
Use a second device to play the audition track out loud.
Take your time! Don’t feel like you have to send in your first take. Prepare as if you’re playing for a service and send us your best!
If possible; please make sure you’re visible in the video as well. We want to see you worship; not just play your instrument!
When you’re ready to upload, you can click here to send them to us via dropbox. These will upload to our dropbox account and notify our staff that we have auditions to review! You should see a screen that looks like the one on this page. Please put your name on each upload so we know who you are!
After you’ve uploaded your audition video, head back to the Join the Team page and fill out the worship application and sign the honor code! When our team has reviewed your audition videos and worship application, we’ll get in touch with you for next steps!
